For almost 100 years, Toc H Queensland has brought sick and disadvantaged children and their families to the Royal Brisbane Show — a day of joy for families who give everything, every day.
Date to be confirmed — details will be updated once finalised.
No cost, no fuss — just a great day out for children and families who deserve it.
Each year, Toc H Queensland organises a group outing to the Ekka for children and their families, referred through hospitals and community organisations across Brisbane. Volunteers take care of everything — transport, lunch, and Toc H show bags packed with Ekka goodies. Strawberry sundae vouchers are, of course, mandatory. 🍓 Families just show up and enjoy the day together.
The outing is led by the Brisbane Branch of Toc H Queensland. If your organisation works with sick or disadvantaged children and would like to be involved, get in touch.
The Ekka Outing is one of Toc H Queensland's most beloved annual programs — running for almost 100 years. Each year, Brisbane Branch volunteers coordinate with hospitals and community organisations to bring over 250 sick and disadvantaged children and their families to the Royal Brisbane Show for a day they won't forget.
Toc H volunteers pack show bags filled with Ekka goodies — and yes, strawberry sundae vouchers are basically mandatory. 🍓 Transport is arranged, and volunteers accompany families throughout the day — on rides, through the animal pavilions, and to all the good bits.
It is a simple act of service that makes an enormous difference. For many of the children and families, it is one of the highlights of their year.
The outing is led by the Brisbane Branch of Toc H Queensland, which takes the lead on logistics, volunteer coordination, and liaison with partner organisations. It is a QLD-wide program — all branches are part of the Toc H family that makes it happen.
The Ekka Outing is Toc H service at its most joyful — no solemnity required. Just volunteers, families, and a very large show.
If you'd like to volunteer on the day, or if your organisation works with children who would benefit from attending, we'd love to hear from you.
